MEETING (in accordance with Chapter 303 Acts of 1975).  This may not include Saturday, Sunday or legal holidays.

Newbury Town Hall business hours are Mon., Wed. and Thurs. 8-4 and Tuesday from 8-7.  Faxed or E-mailed postings must reach the Clerk’s office during business hours 48 hours prior to the meeting.

Public Hearings

  • 7:15 p.m National Grid and Verizon New England Plan #18055724-B Orchard St. - National Grid proposes to install a new pole. The new pole will be located on the town property on the north side of Orchard St and will be labeled 28-84.
  • 7:30 p.m. Continuance of the joint public hearing of the Newbury Board of Selectmen and the Newbury Planning Board for a Water Supply Protection Overlay District Special Permit (Board of Selectmen) and for Site Plan Review Approval (Planning Board) for development of a mixed-use commercial building at 76 Newburyport Turnpike, Map R47, Parcel 16, for applicant Michael Houlihan, Roots to Wings Yoga and Healing. Continued from the February 18, 2015 joint public hearing of the Newbury Planning Board and the Board of Selectmen.
Town Administrators Report      

  • Request of the Town Administrator to the Board of Selectmen for a snow and ice emergency which under Mass General Law allows deficit spending in that account.
New Business:

  • Joanne L. Johnson, President, Newburyport Choral Society – Request for a banner on the backstop at Newbury Upper Green, from April 17th – May 4th, 2015, advertising the spring concert of May 2nd and 3rd.
  • One-day Liquor License –  Pine Grove School, PTA – The 2nd Annual Pine Grove Silent & Live Auction “Giddy-Up & Bid” at the Governor’s Academy, Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m.
  • One-day Liquor License – Protection Fire Company, No. 2 – Triton Gradventure Trivia

Correspondence

  • Letter from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Telecommunications and Cable, Re: Petition of Comcast Cable Communications, LLC to establish and adjust the basic service tier programming, equipment, and installation rates for the communities in Massachusetts served by Comcast Cable Communications, LLC that are currently subject to rate regulation, D.T.C. 14-4.
  • Letter from Xfinity pertaining to a copy of its Form 500 for 2014, containing information on customer video service related issues in the community and how Comcast responded.
