BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
July 23, 2013

Chair Steve Fram opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. Present were Elaine Byrne, Alba Gouldthorpe, Health Agent Deborah Rogers, and Health Inspector Virginia Bacon.

6 LENWAY ROAD – Registered Sanitarian Bill Holt, requested the following variance for the proposed septic design located at 6 Lenway Road.
Variance:  Separation of soil absorption system to the water table from 60”required to 48” provided.  This would allow adequate grading and less of a mound on the site. It was moved by Elaine Byrne to accept the variance as submitted; it was seconded by Alba Gouldthorpe and voted unanimously.

HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY – Deborah Rogers gave the board an update on how the Hazardous Waste Day turned out on Saturday, June 29th. She said, “It went very well and a lot of positive feedback from the residents that were happy about the event.”

WNV – The Northeast Mosquito Control has informed the BOH that, Newbury had a positive mosquito pool for West Nile Virus.  At this time we are recommending the precautionary measures to limit the exposure of mosquitos during peak hours.

MINUTES OF MEETING- It was moved by Elaine Byrne to approve the minutes for June 18, 2013 as written; it was seconded by Alba Gouldthorpe and voted unanimously.

RE-ORGANIZE THE BOARD – It was moved by Alba Gouldthorpe to keep Steve Fram as the Chair; it was seconded by Elaine Byrne and voted unanimously.  It was moved by Alba Gouldthorpe to keep Elaine Byrne as the clerk; it was seconded by Steve Fram and voted unanimously.

The next meeting of the Board of Health will be on August 20, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.
