December 30, 2014 Open Session Meeting Minutes (MINUTES APPROVED 1/6/2015)
Present: Chairman B. Kelley, Mr. S. Wechsler, Principal Assessor M. Branciforte, Mr. Rick Harris – Observing the BOA
- The meeting opened at 6:10 p.m. Open Session Meeting minutes from the December 16, 2014 meeting have not been finalized. They will be presented at the next BOA meeting.
- Update of Plum Island values and email from Mark Harrell, Patriot Properties. Principal Assessor Branciforte mentioned the email response from Mark. No additional information regarding the setting of our values on the oceanfront was provided. Moving forward, she further suggested the appraisal approach. An appraisal was done recently on the island. That appraiser should be contacted. Chairman Kelley and Mr. Wechsler stated that they would like to explore options with a referral from Mark Harrell/Patriot Properties. Principal Assessor Branciforte will email Mark regarding this inquiry.
- Vision vs. Patriot CAMA. At our next BOA meeting, Chairman Kelley would like to ask Ms. McCamic to print out the PRC from her system and compare the online version to Patriot. Also, if Ms. McCamic can provide her opinion of Vision Appraisal in more detail.
- Discussion with Rick Harris of his role in observing the BOA. Rick is here to observe the BOA and the dynamics. A follow up conversation with each individual member will take place, followed by a two hour seminar on the role of assessors from the DOR perspective, research done by other towns as well as each individual board member’s opinion.
At 6:42 p.m. Chairman Kelley motioned to adjourn the open session. Mr. Wechsler seconded the motion. The following roll call vote was taken:
