Minutes of the New Boston Conversation Commission
August 7, 2008

Minutes of July – accepted with corrections

Treasurer’s Report - $547,473.47  Land Fund amount - $352,270.14


Shakey Pond - 015-015 – Change to plans, one less house lot, land will go into conservation easement so that two more vernal pools are completely protected.  Copies of revised easement distributed.

Receipt for donation and thank-you letter from NH Fish and Game, placed in files.

Town Hall has received another complaint regarding Morrisey harassing people using the Mill Pond Conservation Area.  Police will now enforce the public use.

Chancey Easement – Ken Lombard – Last piece should come together this month, $192,000 but will get $128,000 back.  Will have to pay title fee and closing agent bill, but the hope is to finish this month.  Will start to pursue other properties.  Thank you Ken for all your hard work and effort!

Forestry Plan for Middle Branch – Burkhamer will email Mike Powers with the final consensus.  Tupper emailed his suggestions to Burkhamer, will forward.  Both Tupper and Thomson will go to mark trees.  Stand #5 – option 2 - clear and expand field but leave buffer between stone wall and road running through stand # 4 & 5.  Stand #6 – option #2 with a buffer, take out mention of profit, keep trails clear, so will be a chipping operation.
Will ask Brown about repairs to bridge and trail.  Shared plan with both Bob Todd and Ken Lombard, they both approved, Wilson to write thank you letters to both.

Boundary Markers – Lorden Parcel will be first parcel to have markers, then Lyndeborough Road due to boundary issues.  Will use paint to mark.  Thomson to buy as needed.

Montgomery – Tucker Mill Road – Wetlands Violation – Letter from Callen, atty. for Montgomery distributed.  This letter needs response, ask Town Administrator to write to Callen, explaining protocols in place when handling complaints, i.e. check to see if there is grounds for a complaint and if so, to call the appropriate State authority.  How to get the message out to the public?  Will put the “Got Permits” poster on the website.

Conservation activities and Information pamphlets distributed.

Tupper will share cd’s from course, maybe special meetings for the different department’s.

Changes to list of endangered species were distributes and are available on the State website.
