Conservation Commission Minutes 07/05/2007
Conservation Commission
July 5, 2007

Present: Tupper, Gilligan, Dodge

June Minutes – none

Treasurer’s Report – none

Ken Lombard from the Open Space Committee addressed the easement issues on two properties.

Tax M/L – 002-112-002 – La Chance
This easement will be for an open space in a Cluster subdivision.  Due to some concerns of precise wording a suggestion was made to have Cyndie and Ken meet with the LaChances and their attorney.  Motion made and seconded to have this easement become a “template” that could be of value for similar Cluster subdivisions.

Discussion continued on easements and continuing concerns of taking easements on open space with “multi-home” owners of a Cluster subdivision.

Tax M/L – 009-019 & 023 – Chauncey
The Chauncey’s have signed and agreement to move forward on the sale of the developments rights of their property.  The monies include a grant from the Farm and Ranch and NB Open Space funds.  A survey of the property needs to be done for final qualification. Thank you Ken Lombard for your efforts in this endeavor.

Tax M/L – 002-062 – Tris Gordon
DES has requested nine additional issues to be addressed for the Dredge and Fill application.
Thompson and Dodge conducted an on-site with NB Building Inspector Ed Hunter to verify the wetland designation of the perimeters of the gravel pit on this property.  The wetlands were flagged and CC did not have any issues.

Footbridge Repair
Tom Miller of the NB Road Committee has advised CC on this project.  The ramps will be upgraded with 5-inch stone and 1 ½ inch stone to hopefully prevent any future washouts.  We anticipate using a small garden tractor to help move the material.  Ed will check with G. Pendelbury regarding use of a crane at the site.

Saunders Pasture
Burr has arranged a July 16th walk through with the Forester to review the cutting of the area to date.  He will write an article for the NB Bulletin.

NB Central School Second Graders
The Second Grade Class has presented CC with $141.00 from their sale of aluminum cans to be used for picnic tables at the Mill Pond CC Area.  Motion made and seconded to spend up to $1,000.00 for the purchase of aluminum or metal table frames.  Kim to pursue the purchase of the table frames.

UNH brochures of forestry workshops available.

Documentary THIRST
Cyndie and Betsey attended a meeting in Goffstown presented by a group of concerned citizens over the issue of bottling companies buying up a communities water supplies and privatizing them.  Mary Koon is presening a followup at her home on July 16th – public invited.

Planning Board material presented for Small Scale Planned Commercial District.

Respectfully submitted
