Conservation Commission Minutes 05/05/05
NEW BOSTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES FROM MAY 5, 2005

Present: Balke, Burkhamer, Dodge, Philippy, Nangle, Tupper, Wilson
Reports:  Treasurer—Balance $191,309.43
              Secretary—Minutes accepted as written.
OLD:
Trailways Group:  Kim Dipietro met with the Commission to discuss Beard Rd. Development and the considered easements. Although the development plans are not currently before the Planning Board, the following motion was proactively moved by Burr Tupper and seconded by Melissa Philippy and passed unanimously. In the event that Rightway Builders offers a right of way easement in order to move the existing trail away from the wetlands and preserve access to the 4H grounds for public trails for the future to access the Railroad Trail the New Boston Conservation Commission would support such an easement but would request that the TOWN hold the easement. No further action is needed at this time, but permission was given to the Secretary to write a letter to the Planning Board and the Board of Selectmen stating the above motion and concerns at the time this issue comes before the Planning Board.

Invasive Species: Lyn Lombard to present materials at our June meeting. Commission reviewed Joe Nangle's draft letter to the PWA and PRLAC requesting their help in sponsoring Lombard’s public presentation. CC members volunteered to attend her May presentation in Greenfield. (This presentation was subsequently canceled, and CC members will attend a June presentation in Lyndeboro.)

Lull Road Development:  Tris Gordon. The ZBA will announce its decision on May 17.

CC Property monitoring:  All six properties have been monitored.
