Last fall the Town of Mount Desert launched a planning initiative to create a future vision for Northeast Harbor’s village center. The goal of this effort was to create a blueprint for future development and infrastructure improvements in the study area and to provide concrete recommendations for improving the village’s appearance, functionality and vitality.
A citizen committee of village residents, business owners and town officials was assembled and began work on the plan in November 2015.
This meeting is to review the draft plan and to take citizen comments. A prior public “Visioning Workshop” was held in July.
The final plan is expected to be completed in early fall and will be presented to the Town of Mount Desert Board of Selectmen at that time.
