New Marlboro Rd Temporary Bridge Fabrication Specifications
The Town of Monterey is requesting a proposal for the fabrication of a temporary steel bridge (site work, construction of abutments and installation will be performed by others) which meets the following general specifications.
General Requirements
·~~~~~Length = 40.0’
·~~~~~Width = 22.0’
·~~~~~Minimum load rating of HS25
·~~~~~Maximum allowable speed of 20MPH
·~~~~~Guard Rail designed for maximum speed of 20MPH
·~~~~~Weather resistant steel
Your proposal must include the following:
·~~~~~Overall cost for fabrication of a temporary steel bridge including delivery to the site in Monterey, MA.
·~~~~~General bridge sketch
Following the acceptance of your proposal, the following must be supplied to the Town of Monterey.
·~~~~~Final Engineering Design Plans
·~~~~~Engineering report showing that the proposed bridge meets a minimum of HS25 rating (Stamped & Signed by a Professional Engineer). The report shall include the maximum loads and reactions to aid in the design of the abutments.
·~~~~~A recommended long term maintenance and operation plan outlining procedures for the Town to maximize the life expectancy of the bridge.
·~~~~~Proof of Liability Insurance
Sealed bids from General Contractors clearly marked “New Marlboro Rd Temporary Bridge Fabrication” shall be received at the Town of Monterey Town Hall, 435 Main Road, Monterey, MA, 01245 until Monday, August 24, 2015 at 4:00pm. Sealed bids will be opened and read aloud by the Select Board at 4:15pm Monday, August 24, 2015.
