TOWN OF MONTEREY, INVITATION TO BID
The Town of Monterey, acting through its Select Board, invites sealed bids from qualified Contractors for the Phase II, construction of an Attendant’s Shed and Compactor Cover in the Town of Monterey. The total work is estimated to cost $40,000. All employees and subcontractors are required to have successfully completed the OSHA safety and health training before employee begins work and be able to show proof. Bids are subject to MGL ch 149 §44A and 44E and to minimum wage rates as required by MGL c. 149 §§26 to 27H inclusive for all work performed on site. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly labeled “Transfer Station Bid – Phase II” and be received no later than Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Select Board’s meeting room at 9:15am, Town Hall, 435 Main Road, P.O. Box 308, Monterey, MA 01245. Bids will not be accepted after 9:15am. Bids will be read aloud at 9:15am and the Select Board will award a contract within 30 days or reserve the right to reject any and all
bids, waive any informality in the bids received, if in the best interest of the Town of Monterey. No bid shall be withdrawn within 30 days of the bid opening. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit of no less than 5% of total bid, in the form of a cash bid bond, certified check, treasurers or cashier’s check of bank or trust company doing business in Massachusetts and shall be made payable to the Town of Monterey. A 50% payment Bond will be required of the successful bidders within 10 days of Notice of Award.
Plans and bid documents will be available for pick up at the Town Hall, Administrative Assistant’s office during normal business hours, with a cost of $20.00 for each bid package, payable to the Town of Monterey. Bidders requesting a bid package be mailed to them must send an additional $20.00 for postage and handling. The building site is available to be seen by appointment by calling 413-528-1734.
