Mowing Bid
Town of Monterey
Parks Commission

Site meeting: May 22, 2010 at 1p.m. Monterey Town Hall

1.  The contract term shall be for a period of three (3) years, commencing July 1, 2010 and end June 30, 2013

2.  Contractor shall keep the grass cut and maintain the following grounds as specified at the June 5th site meeting:
                A.  Greene Park
                B.  Bidwell Park, Town center across from Greene Park
                C.  Parade Grounds, at old Town Center
                D.  Dam Area at Lake Garfield.
                E.  Town Beach and Parking area across the road from Lake Garfield.
                F. Maintenance of Baseball Diamond at Greene Park to include:
                        1. Turning of infield dirt area two times a year. (Early spring and Mid July)
                        2. Level dirt areas to grass area.
                        3. Remove grass clippings from the infield and outfield and around the bleachers.
                        4. Yearly clearing of brush beyond outfield area perimeter (Early July)
3.  Contractor shall provide a list of Equipment that will be used to carry out the scope of services.
4.  All mower blades shall be kept sharp to avoid injury to the grass, its substrate and creating a brownish cast to the turf.
5.  Contractor will be responsible to correct any and all damage to turf caused by      mowing. (This applies to all mowed grounds but specifically to Dam Area at Lake Garfield.)
6.  All grass shall be kept at 2” to 3” tall.
7.  Contractor shall endure mowing does not take place during ballgames.        (The park Commission shall provide Contractor with a schedule of ball games at such time as it becomes available.)
8.  All equipment shall be maintained and kept in excellent working condition to safeguard against contamination to the environment through spills and leakage of       gas of oil.
9. Contractor shall show proof of liability insurance.
10. Contractor shall show proof of workers compensation for additional workers in his employ.
11. In the Fall, Contractor shall remove all leaves and debris from all parks and grounds as identified in item 2 above.
12. All bids shall be sealed and clearly marked “PARKS MOWING BID” and are due at the Monterey Town Offices no later than 9:00 a.m. Wednesday June 2nd 2010
13. Bids shall be awarded  at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday , June 2nd, 2010 at the Monterey Town Hall
