TOWN OF MONTEREY
INVITATION TO BID
GRAVEL
The Town of Monterey, acting through its Board of Selectman, invites sealed bids from qualified venders to provide gravel to the Town of Monterey Highway Department required for various projects throughout the year. Estimated value of the gravel contract is $35,000. Specifications are outlined below and must be strictly followed. No modifications will be allowed. Specifications can be picked up at the Town Hall, Town of Monterey, Selectboard Secretary, 435 Main Road, Monterey, MA 01245
Completed bid proposal forms must be submitted to the Town of Monterey Selecboard Secretary at the Town of Monterey Town Hall, 435 Main Road, Box 308, Monterey, MA. 01245 by 415 P, Monday July 05, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Bids received after the deadline, will be returned, unopened. Proposals must be sealed and clearly marked “Bid for Gravel”. Bids may not be withdrawn within 30 consecutive days after the bid opening.
SPECIFICATIONS
1. Gravel must meet MassHighway specifications for gravel, sieve analysis must be submitted.
2. Prices will be accepted for Fractured Process Gravel, and for Bank Run Gravel. Prices for both at the pit and delivered to be submitted.
3. Gravel priced at pit for pickup must be within 12miles of Town of Monterey Highway Department Garage.
4. Prevailing wage rates for delivered material shall apply under MGL 149 Section 26 and 27, and all provisions thereunder.
5. Contract period is from July 1, 2008 o June 30, 2009 with the Town of Monterey having the option of extending the contract for 2(two) consecutive, one year periods.
6. Delivered price is to any point in the Town of Monterey as determined by the Director of Operations
7. A certificate of non-collusion must accompany bid
The Selectboard for the Town of Monterey, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, when, in the opinion of the Selectboard, the Town’s best interest would be served by doing so. A contract or contracts will be awarded within 30 days of the bid opening by the Selectboard to the qualified, responsive bidder with the lowest price.
