Minutes of the meeting of 11/4/16
Meeting Opened at: 4:30pm
Select Board Members Present: Kenn Basler, Chairperson, Steve Weisz and Carol Edelman
Also in attendance: Shawn Tryon, Willie Morales, Jon Sylbert, Roy Carwile, Stan Ross, Ray Tryon, Rob Hoogs
Miscellaneous Items Reviewed:
- The Board interviewed Willie Morales for the part time town administrator position. Willie explained his administration style. Willie is a big believer in sharing information and teambuilding. If offered the job he doesn’t see any issues with sharing his time between Monterey and Sandisfield. The Board stressed the importance of having a presence in town hall and would prefer having someone here on Fridays and possibly Saturdays. Willie stated he would adjust his schedule as necessary to function effectively with all the departments and public. He stressed that his job would be to bring out the most efficient performance out of each individual in the town hall. He would be available to start after Thanksgiving.
- Steve is going to meet with Alice Boyd, Select Board member in Sandisfield to discuss what they are currently offering Willie and to confirm they will be willing to share the cost of his health insurance benefit.
- The Board unanimously agreed that they would like to offer the position on a 6 month probationary basis to Willie and will ask him to attend their meeting on Wednesday.
- Paul Lisi, Town Accountant reported that the FY16 has been closed and that the free cash will be roughly $400,000.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 6pm
