Minutes of the meeting of 10/19/16
Meeting Opened at: 4pm
Select Board Members Present: Kenn Basler, Chairperson, Steve Weisz and Carol Edelman
Also in attendance: Cliff Weiss, Emily Johnson, Don Clawson, Larry Klein, Peter Chait,
The Board met with the Broadband and Finance Committee members to discuss the following:
- A letter was drafted to send out to all the residents with regards to the status of broadband.
- Cliff provided an update on his conversations with MassBroadband.
- Discussion ensued about the details of the RFP that will be sent out with a target release date of Nov. 28th. The Board and Broadband Committee will be seeking input from the full Finance Committee with regards to the town position on financing some, all or none of the project.
- Steve read into the minutes the following email from Joanne DeRose, Principal Manager Community & Customer Management, Western MA at National Grid, “…I feel it important to let you know that if the private company moves ahead with the pole attachment license, and then you also ask for an attachment, your costs could be higher based on what will need to be accommodated to maintain clearance issues;...”
- The Broadband Committee will hold weekly meetings going forward to work on the RFP.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 5:20pm
