Minutes of the meeting of 8/20/16
Meeting Opened at: 10am
Select Board Members Present: Steve Weisz and Carol Edelman
Also in attendance: Midge Lefkowitz, Dorothy Enlund, Bill Enlund, Susan Popper, Rocky Greenberg, Adam Chait, Christopher and Karen Traynor, Peter Chait
Annual 2nd Homeowners Meeting Items Reviewed:
1. The Board announced that the new Clerk was sworn in yesterday and her office hours will be posted soon.
2. Broadband status: Steve provided an update on the progress the Broadband Committee is making.
3. 2nd Cell Tower Status: Steve reported that this is moving along and a permit to construct should be issued in the fall.
4. Lake Garfield boat ramp access: The ramp is roped off while the beach is open, if you need to get in please contact the police department as they will come down and assist you with getting in.
5. Those present were happy with the cutting back of the invasive species on RT57 and requested that this be done regularly.
6. The new fire truck was discussed.
7. The difference between the Fire Company and the Fire Department was explained.
8. The library renovation was discussed.
9. Concern was voiced about the police department – the Board stated that people should feel comfortable speaking directly with the Chief or putting their complaint in writing (signed, not anonymously).
A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 11am
