Minutes of the emergency meeting of 8/16/16

Miscellaneous Items Reviewed:
1. Deborah Mielke has since changed her mind about being able to fill in as the Town Clerk due to family obligations. Carol and Steve spoke at yesterday’s meeting about the options available and it was determined to call the state (elections division) and Representative Pignatelli. This led to a call to the MA Clerks Association who maintains a list of clerks looking for positions as well as a suggestion to contact the legal division of elections should we not be able to find someone to step in for the upcoming elections. One of our new grant writers may also be interested in the position and has clerk experience. Terry will be asked to come in at her earliest convenience to interview and see if she’s interested.
2. Missing check for the fire truck: Steve spoke to the former Treasurer, Jennifer Brown who took the check with her on her last day with the town and would not turn it over to Steve. It was decided to put a stop payment on the check Jen has and reissue another.
3. It was agreed that Kenn will speak to Paul regarding the decision to have the Accountant’s hours changed to at least 2:30 instead of 3:30 on one of the days he comes in.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 11:05am
