Executive Session Minutes from 8/25/08
Ethics Issue
4:55pm – 5:03pm
Present: Wayne Burkhart, Chair of the Select Board, Jonathan Sylbert, Select Board member, Scott Jenssen, Select Board member, Melissa Noe secretary to the Board and Donald Torrico
At 4:55pm the Board discussed the need to go into Executive Session to discuss a personnel matter. Roll call was taken by the Chair. All Select Board members were present. A motion was made by W. Burkhart to go into executive session, seconded by J. Sylbert, and approved unanimously. The Board agreed that they would return to an open session. Open session was resumed at 5:03.
Items discussed:
- After about 75% of the work was completed at the Kutsher’s Sports Academy he became aware that his brother, who is an electrician in the Berkshires, has been hired to do the electrical work at the camp. D. Torrico wanted the Board to be aware of the conflict of interest that could be perceived. A disclosure of financial interest was filed with the Town Clerk to protect Don Torrico. The Board voted unanimously to approve the form and sign it.
At 5:03pm W. Burkhart called this meeting to a close and it was seconded by J. Sylbert and unanimously approved by the board.
