Planning Board minutes for Thursday August 25, 2016
- Called meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.
- Members present: Stephen Enoch, co-chair, Roger Tryon, Pat Salomon, Larry Klein, and Maggie Leonard, co-chair.
- There was no business from the public.
- The minutes from June 23, 2016, were read and approved. (There was no quorum for several meetings and thus these minutes went unapproved until now.)
- Leonard reported to the board that the Town Clerk did not submit the SDU zoning bylaw that was approved at the annual town meeting in May to the Attorney General’s office. The Town Administrator, Melissa Noe, provided Leonard with contact information to the AG”s office for information about submitting the bylaw. Leonard will follow-up with the new Town Clerk and get the bylaw submitted.
- The board reviewed the most recent draft of proposed changes to the Multi-family regulations in the zoning bylaws. Additions and changes were made to the draft that will be updated for the next meeting, September 8, 2016.
- The board discussed the Sign bylaw with regard to temporary signs. The board agreed that the format of the bylaw could be confusing. Under Signs Not Requiring Permits, we agreed to move 1. Temporary Signs to the last one on the list. The board also agreed that we could ask the town if we can change the duration of temporary signs to 30 days.
- The board opened the mail. There were two public hearing notices from Great Barrington.
- The board voted to adjourn at 8:34 p.m.
