Planning Board Meeting Minutes for Thursday June 23, 2016

- Board discussed getting a legal opinion on what can/can't be done in a meeting that does not have a quorum.~ Maggie will e-mail town council.
- Discuss the language in the Signs Section 6.2 of the Bylaw
- Maggie will draft a letter to the Fire company RE the Steak Roast Sign to send a letter for 6/27 and deliver to the select board. Advising points of the bylaw.~ CC building commissioner and the select board
- Sign can be displayed for not more than 14 days prior to the event.
- Sign cannot exceed 4 square feet unless given a select board waiver
- Must be 10 feet from the traveled way or the preexisting building setback
- The board agreed that there are ambiguous sections of the Bylaw and the board will go into more depth in the Bylaw to clarify.
- Vote on language changes to zoning bylaws for Multi Family Dwellings.
- Board reviewed proposed changes
- Maggie will capture comments and changes for another review at the next meeting.
- Goal is to have revisions approved to send for review by building commissioner and council for the next special town meeting.
- Discuss new designation in the zoning bylaws for airstrip and helipad as a result of DOT ruling on airstrip in Sheffield. Public hearing for that too?
- Town cannot regulate Private airstrips or Helipads they are governed by Department of Transportation.
- The board will make sure that our bylaw does not conflict with this decision.
- Notice on decision of special permit from Great Barrington for Great Barrington Sunoco 190 State Road Granted.
