Planning Board meeting minutes for Thursday April 24, 2014
The meeting opened at 7:10 p.m.
Members present: Maggie Leonard, co-chair, Alan Salamon, Larry Klein, and Roger Tryon.
Members absent: Barry Karson, Stephen Enoch, and Tom Sawyer.
Members of the public present: Maynard Forbes.
• Forbes presented a Form A for Maynard and Gale Forbes and Leigh and Wendy Tryon for properties at 375 and 369 Main Rd. The plan shows a land swap between the two abutting properties. The board unanimously approved the plan and a check for $40 was received.
•The minutes from 4-10-14 were read and approved.
•The agenda was reviewed for the upcoming public hearing on Saturday April 26th. The board reviewed the warrant article for the special town meeting at 9 a.m. on Saturday May 3, 2014.
•The board reviewed a draft of the finding for the Higgins application for a special permit. The document was rejected in favor of a brief version:
“The Planning Board finds that the proposed project complies with the requirements of the Monterey Zoning Bylaws, specifically section 5.0 Non-conforming Uses and Structures.”
•The board reviewed and discussed the list submitted by the ZBA of recommended changes to the Zoning Bylaws. There will be a joint board meeting with the ZBA on May 8th at the regular meeting of the Planning Board. Salamon suggested that we also discuss the expansion of rights for non-conforming structures at that meeting.
•The meeting adjourned at 9:13 p.m.
