Planning Board meeting minutes January 10th 2008
Meeting to order: 7:04 P.M.

Members Present: Cindy Hoogs, co-chair; Brian Puntin, co-chair; Maggie Leonard; Alan Soloman
· Prior Meeting Minutes- The minutes for the October 25th and November 8th meetings were approved as written. Bridget will submit them to Melissa Noe.
· Simms Project- The board was notified by Barbara Swann that they were required to sign off on plans and sign the back of from A should they want to pass the proposal. Then the next step would be to have it filed with Barbara Swann. The board did so and as of November 8th the Simms plan was endorsed by the planning board.
· Select Board memo- The select board sent a memo to the planning board stating that the Capital grant application was not yet received. Although the board was unclear what their official role was in this process Maggie had the grant in her possession and is currently working on it.
· Mail- A copy of the bui8lding specs was received for the repairs being done to the dam at Benedict pond. Miscellaneous solicitations and advertisements were received. There was a notice about the public hearing to take place in Great Barrington regarding off street parking. Also the Berkshire Regional Planning board minutes were received.
· Town of Monterey Master Plan- Alan stated that he is willing to try to take over the project of coming up with a master plan. The project was originally being worked on by Janet Cathcart whom recently resigned. Alan is going to make an effort to work with Berkshire Regional Planning to get a positive start on the project. Cindy will send Alan the email for Berkshire Regional Planning. Monterey currently has not Master Plan in existence.
· Common driveway bylaw- The board is hoping to be a part of a public hearing sometime in March 2008. The board will work on a final draft of the common driveway bylaw with a projected date of March 27, 2008 to present it at a public hearing. Changes and amendments to previous common driveway regulations were discussed.
· Vacant Planning Board Seats- There are currently two planning board vacancies. The board mentioned a few interested parties but at this time there do not seem to be any interested parties stepping forward.
