Mark Macuk has opened the beach prior to memorial day for the second time in as many years.

Julio indicated his support for a dog/activities park behind the base ball field.~

Jim Edelman spoke about the lack of attention the baseball field has been given this year and in years past. Stating that the field should be turned, by contract, by the beginning of the Cal Ripkin season (mid April).~ Also noting, weeds in the playground, and divits in the lawn caused by snow removal.~ Mr. Edelman continued by saying the current contractor was in breach of contract, because of this alleged neglect and voiced his support for another bidder for the mowing contract. In response, Josh Allentuck stated that the field, though not turned even by this meeting date of 6/5 has been the first year that has happened, and without speaking to Mr Mielke (current contractor) directly noted a very wet spring and reminded Mr. Edelman that the infield was replaced last year with new clay and basepaths narrowed with an addition of sod up the 1st and 3rd base lines.~ Mr. Allentuck also suggested that Cal Ripken be somewhat responsible for the condition of the field and noted the absence of any maintence by parents/players and coaches after practices and games with rakes and chain drags purchased by the Parks Dept 3 yrs ago. Mr. Edelman stated that this was done. Mr. Edelmans objections were noted and Josh will speak with Rick Mielke to expedite the turning of the infield and other objections raised by Mr. Edelman.

The mowing bids for the next three years were opened.~ Rick Mielke bid read: $10,500 and Doug Baker Outdoor Services read, $16,500.Admitting some confusion as to the decrepency of the numbers it was decided to award the bid to Rick Mielke.~
Mr Edelman left prior to the award.
