Monterey Parks Commission

The July minutes were approved as written.
Beach Issues:
- Friends of Lake Garfield approached Emily Shaw to ask if the swim lines could be moved for Lakefest. Emily suggested that Hy Rosen come to the Parks Commission meeting on 8/4. He did not attend.
- There have been errors in time cards for the Lifeguards. Emily adjust the next time sheet.
- We need to repair/ replace: the lifeguard chair, the lifeguard umbrella
- Emily had a meeting of the lifeguards on 7/29. Issues- Be professional, be on time, 20 minute limit, guarding from the water , work phone is not a personal phone, respect for patrons.
- Trash can had an odor to it till 3PM when it was picked up. It was determined that a beach patron threw fish in the Trashcan.
- Shortage of lifeguards for the end of the summer. Jessica will call Valarie; Emily will call Berkshire South to get their list of lifeguards.
Movie Night:
- Josh will email Melissa a copy of the flyer for Movie Night and ask that it be put on the town website.
- Concessions-Free Water, soda and candy, The firm setting up the movie will bring a popcorn maker, and can charge for the popcorn.
- Set-up Saturday: We need 3-Tables, 9- Coolers, 3- garbage cans, Josh will bring Contractor trash bags.
- Josh will get tickets from Staples. There will be a charge for Popcorn. Soda, water and candy will be free, and given out per ticket.
- Parks Commission Personnel should arrive at 6:15 PM for set-up
Dog Park:
- The new wording of the regulation for the park: “No pets allowed on or at the town beach or parks except for specifically designated areas”.
- Josh will type up this regulation and send it to the select board and zoning board.
