Parks Department meeting
In attendance Josh Allentuck, Valerie Zantay, Gary Shaw, Diana Piepho
March. Minutes were read and approved.
Barbara Palmer, Catherine Roberts and Rob Hoogs from the Bidwell house came to speak with the Parks department.
The Bidwell house in conjunction with the cultural councils of Monterey and Tyringham
July 3 1:00-4:30 “Township Number one” day
They are requesting the help of the Parks Department. They need volunteers for that weekend. There will be hikes, an antique road show, a baking contest.
Ideas were discussed ranging from sports events to local artists to music and food.
Dianna spoke to Melissa about using the lifeguards during rainy days. She said Melissa was respective to the idea but would have to go on a week by week basis.
Rink
Rink break down was a success. Thank yous???
Skateboarders are using the boards and they will get ruined. Josh will put up a sign.
There are some lights out in the pavilion that will need to be fixed for next year.
Greene Park
Email from Jim Edelman regarding field.
Request from Steve Graves for a water fountain at Green Park. Diana will talk to Mark Makuc about this. She is also talking to him about the ropes for the beach.
Beach
Swim lessons. Emily is certified.
Lifeguards will start on the weekend of the 12th and then full time starting the weekend of the 19th. Lifeguards who have contacted us will be invited to the June meeting.
Josh will call Donovan’s to order sand and Lee Tryon to spread it.
Porta-potties need to be ordered. Josh will call Mt. Everett sanitation.
Garbarge person is on. Sam Corbin. Josh will order bags.
