Parks Commission Meeting: 12- 05-07
· Jacob Krans will be paid during the winter months to upkeep the “big belly”. He will submit a monthly bill for $25.00.
· Kelly paid her sub for one day.
· Monday night is the conservation meeting at 6:00. The park commission will be present to discuss the pouring of the slabs. It is the commission’s belief that the slab is 200 feet away from the river at the playground location and 75 feet from the water at the beach. As a result no permit was needed.
· The ice rink walls are in place and water is being added in the next few nights. The skating schedule will be the same as the previous year. The pavilion rental bill has been paid. A skating party will be planned for the 28th of December from 1-4.
· Leroy will write up the town report and email it prior to the next meeting.
· There is $12,400 remaining in the budget. Out of this amount lifeguards will be paid for one week, the mowing contract will be paid; the electric bill will be paid.
· Leroy will revisit the issue of doing away with the payphone at the beach. It cost the parks commission about $1,000 per year and we do not get the change from inside.
· The parks commission will sponsor the hayride with the coffee club on December 16th.
· Valerie will send a thank you letter to the individuals that set up the rink.
· Valerie will also ask Darrell if he would consider giving hokey lessons.
