Parks commission Minutes 7-5-06
1. Discussion of beach permits. Question as to weather beach is state or town owned.
Chandler will write a letter to the selectman saying no passes required.
2. Signs at beach.
No dogs
No smoking
Carry out trash
Resident and their guests parking only
Chandler will look into prices on signs
3. Garbage at Beach not picked up
Michael Storch said last summer that he would arrange to have Maynard pick up the trash and send us the bill. Fred remembered that originally Maynard was supposed to do it. Storch also has issues with Perry mowing the ball field and behind the town hall. He tied the 2 together saying (to Chandler at the post office) that unless the mowing is done, Maynard would not be picking up trash. Leroy said that Perry wont mow behind the town hall until it is leveled and landscaped. Leroy will talk with Dennis and Bev.
4. Phone at Beach
911 not working . There must ve a phone assessable to public so must have pay phone
5. Lifeguard - meeting with fireman went well
6. Swim lessons
Cathleen Bailar cant do lessons. Hire Emily Shaw and her co teacher . Split salary ($675)
7. Lakefest Aug 19, They want and extra lifeguard. Who pays? Also they did not ask for sand which they will need. In the past they have paid for it. Chandler will call Janet Cathcard
8. Valerie will check with Jim E. About doing step in playground. Rope- Chandler has catalogue.
