Monterey Council on Aging (COA)
Minutes of N0vember 26, 2018 – Final
The meeting convened at 10:00. Present Were: Kyle Pierce, Norma Champigny, Ruth Champigny, Ilene Marcus, Maryellen Brown, Roz Halberstadter
Minutes of the last meeting on October 9th will be typed and sent to Melissa.
Minutes of October 22nd will be typed and submitted for approval to the COA.
The New England Flower Show (March 13-17). First Choice Tours date is March 15th – pickup and drop off in Lee. Maryellen will coordinate. Lectures, competition and lots to see. Maryellen to confirm specifics and then we will send out info by paper and COA email in January.
Folk Singer. Still pending confirmation from the Cultural Council. Planned for end of February.
Upcoming Events:
- Movie on December 11: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
- Foot Nurse is Thursday the 29th from 9 am– 12pm (Kyle will call and confirm appointments); Next date the foot nurse will be here is January 24, 2019
- Mt. Everett Senior Holiday Luncheon and Concert at 11:30 on December 6th -- Reminder email saying you know who you are will go out on Monday December 3rd.
Budget Meeting. November 2nd, 2018 Kyle and Ilene prepared the budget and presented to select board and finance committee member. We requested funding for outreach person and they suggested making it a warrant item. In May, we will also submit a warrant item to change our by-laws to say “members” instead of residents.
Report on Roadside Luncheon. Great event, 15 people attended. Antione Alstone discussed doing an exercise program. At this time, the COA does not think this is a good fit right now. We agreed to revisit this in the Spring.
Next Meeting is Monday December 10th at 10:00 am. No meeting on Christmas Eve.
The meeting after will be January 14th at 10:00 am (weather permitting).
