Monterey Council on Aging (COA)
Minutes of June 18, 2018 – Final and Approved
The meeting convened at 10:10 am. Present Were: Kay Purcell, Kyle Pierce, Roz Halberstader, Norma Champigny, Ruth Champigny, Ilene Marcus.
Approval of May 14, 2018 Minutes. Unanimously approved without changes.
Minute Taking: Ilene Marcus agreed to take the minutes. Kay advised we can use the laptop we have in the office.
Pittsfield Suns July 8 Event: Doing the buffet by the tent, since it worked much better last time. Guaranteed 20 people, can let them know 2 days prior.
Budget: $1,701.50 June 1 State Balance (still to be purchased, vests, card tables, art class)

Office Space: The COA has office space in the town hall.
Emails: The COA receives many emails from the state, the association and the other local councils. Kyle offered to be the official coordinator of emails. Kay will send or add Kyle to all email lists and Kyle will read the emails and funnel interesting or important ones to the rest of the committee for review.
COA Workshop presented by the state in the Pittsfield Senior Center, June 22nd 9 to 11:30 am, Kyle and Ilene will attend
Summer Plans Other Councils:
August 8th (Wednesday) Picnic at York Lake sponsored by the Sandisfield Council at 11am
July 18th (Wednesday) 12 noon, $5/head Sponsored by the Otis Council, RSVP 269-0100 ext. 107
Fall Planning:
Several ideas were discussed, including review of past events and attendance. We discussed a Fall Dance, on September 22nd from 2 – 5 pm. Kay will call the Fire Chief and see if the pavilion is available. Ilene will find a caller with music for review by the committee.
Voted to approve buying two more card tables, Kyle will purchase.
Next Meeting is July 9th at 10:00 am.
