                                 Minutes of April 23, 2018


The meeting opened at 10:05 pm.  Present: N. Champigny, K. Purcell, Kyle Pierce, Cynthia Weber, Maryellen Brown, Don Coburn, Don Clawson and J. Rodriguez (briefly), L. Hebert and R. Champigny were not present.  There was no quorum.
K. Pierce agreed to become active with the council.  Select Board will be notified. The need for more new members was noted.  
D. Clawson gave information on tax abatements for work-off and veterans.

Events  
1. Bowling. Cove Lanes informed us that all the balls weighed 6 lbs. Enthusiasm cooled. Candlepin lanes in Dalton (1) and Pittsfield (1) use 3.5 lb balls without finger holes.   
2. May 17th, 11:30 – 2 pm the council will host a luncheon for those 90 years and over as well as council volunteers.  Marketplace menu looks good and Doug Schmolze is available to entertain.  
3. Movies start May 8th and every Tuesday at 7 pm thru May and June.  This is a test run.  We have blackout curtains, the projector, lists of movies plus borrowed sound booster and a DVD player.

Bits and Pieces   
1. Susan Cain is interested in teaching about the art of Mandalas, creating designs and coloring.    
2. Elder Services is willing to send us multiple copies of the monthly newspaper either individually or bulk.   
3. There will be Formula Grant training in Pittsfield on June 22nd.   
4. AARP runs driver safety courses; maybe in autumn @ community center.
5. Medicare fraud protection information can be presented; maybe @ potluck.

The meeting adjourned at 10:50 am.  Next meeting – May 14th
