Monterey Council on Aging
Minutes of January 9, 2017
The meeting was opened at 10:05 am with N. Champigny, R. Champigny, K. Purcell and J. Rodriguez. L. Hebert was absent. Minutes of November 28, 2016 were reviewed and accepted.
The council was up-dated about neighbor having difficulties. Several in town are concerned about his well-being following a car accident. Contacts reported confusion and poor judgment. MA Protective Services are involved.
Discussion of role of shared outreach worker. Suggestions from C.T.Senior Center: make a list of seniors (we have), produce a flyer, benefit counseling (set time, place and home visits) phone calls(would be helpful) and a reception “Monterey Day” at CTSC to present program (in Monterey, not GB). Note parentheses are council’s opinion.
Suggested that all visit the Community Center to decide would the space be useful for the CoA.
J.R. will research the Scallop Festival and also suggested dances.
