Monterey Council on Aging
Minutes of May 11, 2016
The meeting opened at 10:05 am with N. Champigney, R. Champigney, K. Purcell and J. Rodriquez present. L. Hebert was absent. Cynthia Weber and Judy Hayes also were present with Kenn Bassler joining us for a part of the meeting. The minutes of the April 27, 2016 meeting were accepted.
Board of Health K.P. and J.R. attended the meeting on May 2nd with the board, the Health inspector and a resident with housing issues. The resident agreed to our help and on May 9th six people assisted in cleaning up some of the property. Mechanism for two of the workers to be paid has not been determined yet. K.B. will assist with this. Also K.P. filed a request for Protective Services to be involved. The case was accepted and a worker will be assigned.
Budget There is $1,419.65 remaining in the combined accounts. Remaining expenses are: $350. for ballgame, $200-400. for museum trip, listening devices $150. and 350. for clean-up project. The state agrees on the need for a computer and we should start preparation for the Health Fair.
Transportation C. Weber reported updates with the SBETC. The contract was signed by K. Bassler. Ray Becker agreed to drive the school van but details, esp. insurance are still being worked on.
Chair Yoga No updates from Parks Committee.
Next meeting is May 25th. A speaker from “Seniors Helping Seniors” will make a presentation at 11 am.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:20am.
