Minutes of November 18, 2015
The meeting opened at 10:05 am with Norma Champigney, Ruth Champigney, Kay Purcell, Julio Rodriguez and Cynthia Weber present.
The minutes of October 14, 2015 were approved. The meeting of November 11th was cancelled due to Veterans’ Day. It was agreed that the meeting of November 23rd will be cancelled because of Thanksgiving.
C. Weber reported on SBETC. Transportation goes regularly to Suburban Medicine office in Lee now. Pittsfield runs are in the works; several trips have been made. She had an earlier experience with volunteer Monterey drivers; that may not work well due to schedules and insurance issues.
The October 28th meeting in Great Barrington with Alice Bonner, Secretary, Executive Office of Elder Affairs and Emmett Schmarsow, Elder Affairs Project Manager was attended by N. Champigney, R. Champigney and K. Purcell. There was an informative exchange of ideas. E. Schmarsow reported a plan for a part-time outreach worker. Egremont, Great Barrington and Monterey will be involved. He suggested two questions concerning transportation and emergencies be included in the next voter census survey. The town clerk will work with us on this next month.
Planning: Card Games – there is an interest in bridge and pitch. Location, dates and an instructor for bridge to be determined. NC and JR Balance/Exercise – JR Location for cards – NC and KP Wii Bowling – KP to find help for us to learn the system. Trips – RC will make inquires about two possibilities.
