Review Open Meeting Law (posting requirements, etc.)
Discussed current orders of condition as researched by Dominic Stucker. Proposed and passed motion to submit recommendations to Select Board for actions to be taken this spring in an effort to remediate the spread of e.milfoil. Michael Germain to draft letter to SB – will submit before next month’s meeting.
Discussed public accessibility to relevant research and other content on the town website. Greg Carnese to suggest content to be included on a LGWG page. Will review potential content at next meeting.
Briefly discussed current status of 604b grant work being done by Dr. Ken Wagner. Michael Germain to invite Dr. Wagner to the March LGWG meeting for a more in depth discussion of his work and to answer questions regarding potential implications of his findings.
Discussed potential ways to engage town residents in the work of LGWG including a public, digitally accessible survey to gauge public opinions on various lake issues. Group members to generate potential survey questions and submit to Eric Danforth to review and compile for further review at LGWG March meeting.
Brief discussion of the Lake Garfield Lake District, LGWG’s role in public education around it and what impact a Lake tax district would have on the group’s future work.
