Employee Compensation Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes
Date: 9/18/14 at 4pm
Present: Mickey Jervas, Gareth Backhaus, Fiona DeRis, Melissa Noe, Donald Clawson, Shawn Tryon, Larry Klein and Kenn Basler
- The minutes from 7/16/14 were approved as written.
- The Committee approved the minor corrections and additions to the Employee Handbook and will make a recommendation to the Select Board that they be approved and this version be considered the final version (amendments can always be made) to be distributed to all employees and all employees will be required to sign the receipt page acknowledging that they have received a copy. The Treasurer will be asked to come up with an addendum to the new employee packet that better explains the OBRA program.
- Job descriptions: It was agreed that it didn’t fall under the purview of the ECAC to create or modify job descriptions for all the positions within the town. It was decided that M. Noe will type up all of the existing job descriptions into the same format, the ECAC will review them and then each department will be consulted to make sure that the job description(s) are accurate. Once this is done they will be distributed to the employees and put on file and updated when necessary.
- The Committee will plan to start working on the salary and benefits of all the paid positions for FY16 at the next meeting.
