Employee Compensation Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes
Date: 11/7/13 at 4pm
Present:  Muriel Lazzarini, Melissa Noe, Mickey Jervas, Gareth Backhaus and Maynard Forbes
Absent: Daniel Moriarty, Larry Klein, Chris Tryon and Fiona DeRis

  • The minutes from 9/5/13 & 10/3/13 were approved.
  • The Committee continued to review the job descriptions for the Assessor’s Clerk, Library Assistant and Town Accountant.  Additional changes were suggested and this will be reviewed and discussed further at next month’s meeting.  Questions arose as to why the Assessor’s Clerk is paid salary when she is part time and up until last year was paid hourly.  The Committee will look into this.  The Committee will also begin working on the job descriptions for Lifeguards, the Principal Assessor and the Board of Assessors.
  • Muriel updated the Committee that the Select Board chose a PPO plan and are updating the handbook to reflect the choices.  Any employee that chooses the PPO instead of the HMO will be required to pay the difference in what the town contributes and the actual cost.
  • The handbook subcommittee gave an update on the amendments they are working on in the handbook.
  • The salary subcommittee has begun working on the full-time and part-time wages and will be meeting every two weeks.
  • The Committee will meet next on Thursday, December 5th at 4pm.
