Employee Compensation Committee Meeting

Present:  Janet Cathcart, member, Michael Storch, member, Scott Jenssen, Member, Barbara Gauthier, Town Accountant and Melissa Noe, Inter-Departmental Secretary

  • The Committee reviewed the items completed to date and items still to review and make recommendations on.
  • M. Storch stated that he has spoken with several town officials that would be involved in the budgeting process that have stated they will not approve any employee raises above and beyond cost of living (still to be determined).  Based on the current economic status the Committee reviewed the proposed salary increases made at last week’s meeting regarding the Highway Department and a recommendation was made that only Highway Member #3’s salary be raised to the current salary of Highway Member #2 ($40,891/yr).  All remaining employees in all departments would be given COLA.
  • The Committee agreed to still make the vacation and sick time recommendations.
  • J. Cathcart apologized for not being able to make the February 2nd Select Board meeting to present the Committee’s recommendations.  A memo is going to be written with the Committee’s recommendations to be presented at their February 2nd meeting by Scott and Michael.
  • The minutes from 1.15 & 1.21.09 were approved as written.
