On May 21st the letter from the commission recognizing the historical significance of the schoolhouse was given to Select Board, Mr. Malone, Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth and L. Webster, schoolteacher.
MACRIS stands for Massachusetts Cultural Resource Information System. In 1998 the Massachusetts Historical Commission visited the town and MACRIS is the list of sites with historical significance.  S. Weisz gave a copy to the Board and the Building Inspector with a request to have the Commission notified if any of those properties are planning any work.  The Board agreed with the idea of a letter to the owners about their place on this list.
S.Weisz  reported that the Rock Ridge property is on the National Historic Register and that the Congrational Church may be eligible to submit a grant application.
The Commonwealth informed the Commission of the $30,000. matching allocation grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund which had our support.
The next meeting will be Monday, July 28, 2014 at 10 am in the church basement.
