MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES

The meeting began at 4:00pm
1. 39 Wellman Rd septic redesign – Peter had questions about the proposed tank locations. The plan was approved as submitted; installer needs to sign application prior to permit being issued.
2. 6 Point Rd septic upgrade – plans were approved as submitted; installer needs to sign application prior to permit being issued.
3. The Board met with Berkshire Geo-Technologies to discuss 74 Tyringham Rd. This homeowner is applying for a special permit and the Board had questions. The current system is shared for a 2 bedroom design with a 2 bedroom deed restriction. The Board wants the well tested to be sure it is still potable. The Board also wants a plan to protect the utilities and lake from stormwater runoff in a worst case scenario. Revised special permit application plans will be submitted. The Board had issues with the proposed den which could be considered a bedroom – after discussion it was agreed that the den is not a bedroom and the septic did not need to be upgraded.
