MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES

Also present: Dyane Moore Boyd
The meeting began at 3:35pm
1. The minutes from 4.4.11 were approved as written.
2. Dyane Moore Boyd came in to discuss a candy making operation she’s interested in starting out of her home on Beartown Mtn Rd. Dyane provide a floor plan and a summary of her plan. It’s a non-potentially hazardous food (candy) so labeling was discussed. The Board discussed the other processes Dyane will need to go through to be approved. Allergen training and the serv safe training classes were discussed. The Board stated that a title v water test would need to be done with the results provided to the Board. The potential impact on the septic from the fats/grease was mentioned and the need to maybe install a grease trap or pump the system more frequently to prevent any issues. She’s hoping to make 10lbs of candy at a time, 40lbs per week.
3. The Board received $3000 from a mini grant and will check with the Police Department to see if they did the work on the grant.
4. Beaver remediation is continuing on Sylvan Rd.
5. The camps have started to call for their inspections for the summer camp season.
6. The Board meets next on June 6th.
