MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES
Date: April 12, 2010
Present: Stephen Enoch, Robert Annelli, Peter Kolodziej and John Makuc
Also Present for Parts of the Meeting: Chris Tryon
The meeting began at 3:45pm
1. The minutes from 3.15.10 were approved as written.
2. Joe presented modified plans for the Camp Half Moon septic system upgrade which included:
a. A plot plan of the camp showing all the wells
b. A plot plan showing the newly approved public water supply well and how it relates to camp structures and newly proposed leach field.
c. A brief narrative for the proposed construction.
d. A calculation of the maximum occupancy for each of the structures that will have toilets installed later this fall.
e. The design flow has increased from 550 to 740 gallons.
3. Chris Tryon came in to request that the Board appoint him as an alternate agent for the Board of Health. He is trying to get his EIT and his professional engineer’s license. There is an upcoming class that if the Town will sponsor him as an alternate agent for witnessing perc tests, it will allow him to apply to take the class. A letter is needed from the Board in order for Chris to be accepted to the class.
4. Robert Annelli sent in his Animal Inspector nomination papers.
5. Towns will now have to issue permits to any bathing beaches due to a change in the beach regulations (105 CMR 445.000 Minimum Standards for Bathing Beaches). This will apply to public beaches, camp beaches and semi-public beaches. The required testing will be paid for by the Association, camp or Parks Dept. Peter suggested that a fee should be assessed for the permit for administrative costs.
6. The next meeting is Monday, May 3rd.
