MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES
Date: November 16, 2009
Present: John Makuc, Stephen Enoch, Robert Annelli and Peter Kolodziej

The meeting began at 3:35pm
1. John Dinan came in to discuss the Weiss property at 53 Steven’s Lake Rd; they plan to add a bedroom, there is a septic already there designed for 4 bedrooms and there are currently 3 bedrooms. The septic tank will be replaced and a blank application was provided to John. Peter and the Board reviewed the existing and proposed floor plans.
2. The minutes from 10.19.09 were approved as written.
3. Mail was reviewed which included a letter from the ACO’s disappointment at the way her performance was publically discussed without her being present.
4. A special permit application for William Carry of 29 Broderick Rd was reviewed and a response was sent to the ZBA. The Board approves the project as submitted but will require confirmation from the engineer regarding compliance with Title 5 for the approved septic plans and permit issued in October of 2007 (which will expire in October of 2010).
5. The next meeting will be on Monday, Dec. 7th.
6. Peter updated the Board on his recent percs at the Dodyk property on Elephant Rock Rd.
7. Peter investigated a complaint of a septic leaking into Lake Garfield; it was not due to a failing septic it had to due with organic matter decomposing and drawdown.
8. Mr. Martin on Sylvan Rd was able to finally hit water after several failed drilling attempts.
9. H1N1 clinic update; the earliest a clinic would be held in town at the Firehouse would be mid-December. If it’s held here, Monterey will need to supply volunteers.
