MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES
Date: July 6, 2009
Present: John Makuc, Stephen Enoch, Robert Annelli and Peter Kolodziej
Also Present for Parts of the Meeting: Paula Hall
Prior to the Board’s meeting, Paula Hall of 212 Blue Hill Rd came in to inquire about what would be needed to have the barn on the premises occupied. There is a home, barn and log cabin on the property. She’d like to make the barn into living quarters and wants to know what would be required from the Board of Health. Peter noted that the current septic system is older and probably should be upgraded. Peter suggested having the soil evaluated and to contact a engineer/sanitarian as the first step. Once the site has been confirmed for a new septic system, plans would be submitted to the Board of Health for approval. Peter asked if one well would be serving the multiple homes or if separate wells would be drilled. The well will need to be tested for potability and
to be sure that there is an adequate supply.
The meeting began at 3:45pm
1. The Board will not meet on the 20th but will instead meet on the 27th at 3:30pm.
2. The Board reviewed a ZBA special permit application for the Town of Monterey/Wilson McLaughlin House committee for a use change at 9 New Marlboro Rd. John Makuc recused himself as he is an abutter to the property. At this point the Board of Health does not have any issues with the application. Any future renovations would require the Board’s approval.
3. The minutes from 6.22.09 were approved as written.
4. M. Noe has started preparing and mailing the notices about the July 28th blood drive from 11am – 4pm.
