Present:  John Makuc and Stephen Enoch

The meeting began at 3:40 pm
1.      The board met with Nora Hayes, ACO (Animal Control Officer) and Gareth Backhaus to discuss the procedures of the ACO and some recent communication issues.  N. Hayes came in with a warning letter she’d like to send out for dogs that haven’t applied for their license.  Nora also had questions regarding the bylaw amendment/addition that passed at the Town Meeting.  The board asked if the Animal Control Officer is using her pager and keeping it on all the time, she stated that she did have it shut off this winter, as she wasn’t getting a lot of calls.  The board asked her to make sure she has it on at all times.  Nora doesn’t feel that she needs to respond to all calls and that the Police should determine if the ACO needs to be called in.  She feels that she’s only a very part-time ACO.  The board and police departments need to define what constitutes an emergency.
2.      G. Shapiro came into discuss a beaver problem.  Someone from the board of health will go out and perform a site inspection.
3.      Rabies certificates and how the town obtains copies of the certificates were discussed.
4.      Peter Kolodziej discussed the Perc tests he witnessed this past week.
5.      Peter Kolodziej is working on a violation letter to the owners of the Blue Heron Landing Properties.
6.      The compliant that was filed against the Monterey General Store was withdrawn as the owner came in and paid the cigarette sale violation fine prior to the hearing.
7.      John Makuc discussed the recent EDS meetings.

The meeting adjourned at 5:05pm
