BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES
Date: December 5, 2005
Present: Stephen Enoch, John Makuc, Melissa Noe (clerk), Peter Kolodziej, Amy Carey, BCBOHA, & Don Snyder, Dept of Public Health
The meeting began at 3:45pm
· Amy Carey reviewed the vaccination process & public information notification for Boards of Health in Berkshire County
o Emergency Planning grant money for a vaccination process to vaccinate their residents in a 48hr period. Monterey is grouped with Gt. Barrington, New Marlborough and West Stockbridge.
o State requires a dispensing plan under Gt. Barrington’s blanket, copies of the draft plan was distributed.
o The BCBOHA is going to put together a regional all hazards plan that the smaller towns will be able to adapt to our needs.
o Amy is going to provide us with all the information necessary to help us write our own plan, she also suggested contacting Mark Pruhenski, the new Gt. Barrington Health Agent.
· Don Snyder reviewed the state’s position with regards to the current vaccination plan and sites set up for delivery of vaccines.
o Monterey is proposing that the non-perishable items be pre-placed in a secure area so that only the vaccines would need to be picked up from the stockpile.
o Special Populations need to be considered; group homes, elderly, disabled, etc.
o Monterey also proposed that it’s beneficial to have our own plan for updating purposes and public information notification.
The meeting adjourned at 5:00pm.
