Finance Board Meeting

Meeting began at 9:05
Jon began the meeting by reading emails from Paul Lisi regarding outstanding bills to be paid by the town waiting for approval of the Special Town Meeting. Don and Jon discussed these emails. These are bills that are from FY16 that arrived FY17.
Don and Jon discussed Broadband with the others in attendance. There are still many ideas and questions regarding this issue. The discussion continued regarding the money voted at Town Meeting to fund Broadband, where other area towns are in their Broadband process and how much money they have spent, how our money will be spent and some of the companies that are working in the area to set up Broadband. The discussion continued regarding presenting an RFP and when this should happen. The Board is concerned with spending tax payer dollars on this project before it is necessary. There was also discussion regarding the possibility of a regional network between the surrounding towns. The question was asked about what the Town Meeting voted funds can actually be spent on; a town owned network or a regional
network.
The minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
