Discussion on request for Review of Financial Management Operations from Division of Local Services/Technical Assistance Section. Kenn related that the review is scheduled for September, but Jim Podolak offered to bring in some help earlier.
9:40-10:40
Discussion on moving forward with broadband.
- Possible providers/providers.
- Policy options.
- Should we start with consultation money from MBI?
- Do we want to own network? Do we want to manage network?
- Are we ready to move ahead with RFP?
BJ will get in touch with Larkin, head of MBI, re: availability of funds and of status checklist.
BJ left meeting 10:40.
10:40-11:00
Town Administrator Ad Hoc Search Committee. Jon, Stan and Don volunteered for the committee and sent a letter to the Select Board.
11:00-11:45
Discussion of creating budget policy and schedules, schedule of equipment in town hall, purchase order system, Procurement Officer, monthly expense reports from accountant.

- Letterhead for finance committee
- Access to finance committee documents/directory on server through finance committee computer. Directory should be accessible remotely and password protected
- Access to finance committee webpages on website, particularly to upload approved minutes of meetings

In an effort to provide better service, more transparency and more information to the public, the Finance Committee requests the following:
- Separate email accounts for each Finance Committee member
- Letterhead for the Finance Committee
- Access to the Finance Committee documents/directory on the server through a dedicated Finance Committee computer and/or through the Assessors computer; the directory should also be accessible remotely and be password protected
- Access to the Finance Committee webpage on website, particularly to upload approved minutes of meetings and other documents that will help to educate and inform the public on town finances
- Keys to town hall and the assessors office for Mr. Sylbert, the new committee member
We are looking forward to improving our budget process and relationships with other boards, committees, department heads and appointed officials.
