Finance Committee Meeting Minutes
12/18/14
2:05 – 2:30pm
Present: Donald Clawson and Stanley Ross
- Updated copies of the FY16 budget with the requests received to date as well as an updated capital expense spreadsheet were reviewed.
- The Parks Department has requested an additional $3500 for next year to cover an increase to the cost of lifeguards, the porta-potty, necessary maintenance to the ice rink and beach and price increases to various events the Parks Department puts on. The Committee felt these were reasonable requests.
- The Board of Health has requested a 3% cost of living increase be given to the Sanitary Inspector and the Board of Health Clerk.
- The Committee will start planning sit-downs with the Director of Operations regarding his budget and special articles he’s recommending.
- The Finance Committee is not in favor of putting a special article on to help with the weed mitigation of Lake Garfield. They feel that the town doesn’t pay for Lake Buel to maintain their lake and therefore the Lake Garfield Association should be responsible for maintenance of their lake.
- The Committee plans to meet next on Thursday, January 15th at 10am and will ask the Director of Operations/Fire Chief to attend.
