Cultural Council Meeting on August 24th,2015

~ thanks to Pat for writing the 2016 grants promotion for the monterey news
~ Steve will add the 'cultural council' logo to it and print out enough to post at:
library, general store, townhall and roadside.
~ the suggestion was made to also post it on various monterey related websites
Monterey maker's tour
~ discussion about whether or not the council felt able to organize and host the tour for 2015 resulted in a unanimous decision to not do the usual.
Rather encourage the artists to participate in the community center oktoberfest and the possible holiday fest through the church this year.
~ Due to the council's grant~responsibilities~in dec. and the weather not being conducive for leisurely driving, 3 alternate dates were discussed for ~2016 makers tour:
1.~the saturday before mother's day
2. midsummer,~solstice
3. mid october foliage (not oktoberfest)
~ with the council's help, Pat will draft a letter to the artists explaining the council's position and getting their feedback regarding the choice of a date for next years' tour.

~ in an effort to pin down dates for existing grants, we divided the list of monterey related offerings/ performers as following;~
