Meeting opened at 7:00 PM
P. Salomon agreed to take minutes.
Review of recent event sponsored by Monterey Cultural Council: Monterey’s Got Talent, last Fri eve, 6/12/15, in the Meeting House. Event was co-ordinated by Dayne Herndon. Sound, set-up refreshments all went well. Lots of talent from Gould Farm. Less from the larger Monterey Community, except Dayne and Eric Pedersen. Audience also had much less attendance from community not associated with Gould Farm. Would we want to change this? If so how?
Suggestion to combine with Monterey Studio Tour. Moving the latter out of the dead winter days may have benefits but can’t be considered without interest in the change by exhibiting artists and also several thought it not a good fit with Monterey’s Got Talent. Need to discuss with studio tour Makers and artists.
Budget review: remaining FY 2015 Monterey cultural council funds have been or will be dispersed between
- Eric Martin performance,
- Conrad Ohman hike,
- Knox gallery,
- Library,
- refreshments for last 2 events,
- Dayne for planning and MC role at Monterey’s Got Talent,
- Lucky 5 for jazz evening, Fri 6/19,
- Contribution to Church for housing these and so many events for the community.
Treasurer will need requests for payment submitted as soon as possible.
Communications: Tamara feels capable and interested in updating our face book page, getting us a #hashtag, using instagram, and more. We need to get her on the council ASAP. Fiona to follow-up
Logistics for 6/19 event with lucky five:
Fiona: sandwich board and refreshments. Wants to set up a café style for audience seating; to get assistance from Cheryl, Tamara, Roz, Steve at 5PM, 6/19.
To begin to work on Monterey Makers Tour at next meeting, 7/20. Need to work with Wendy Jensen and others. Will postpone considerations of rescheduling of this event, until we have their input.
