Meeting Minutes
Meeting opened at 7:10

Treasurer’s report, by SW:
Records and systems have been turned over from Kitt to Steve. Steve working well with Brendan, town acct.
Deficit in State acct, because MA behind in transmitting funds: - $ 223.40
Town acct : $2012 – these funds expired June 30. Seems high. Steve and Fiona will check for outstanding payables, but quick review found none. Need a system that tracks simultaneously, planned expenditures, obligated funds and payouts So that the balance is readily interpretable
Pending events before June 31:
Eric Martin 5/22 expected cost $500
Lucky Five in June, expected cost $400 (needs date)
Can consider adding nature walk (Conrad or Bonner) at
$200 (est.)
New event: “Monterey Has Talent” Open mike – event. Steve and Fiona to plan once we know true state of funds. Will consider purchase of sound equipment. Will consider rental of space both upstairs and downstairs at Monterey church. Mike upstairs and refreshments and small crafts or photos or both downstairs.
Council membership needs to be expanded:

Pat S. can only continue if we have a third week mtg on a consistent basis, and only until replaced.
Next MCC meeting dates are: Mondays 5/18, 6/15, 7/20, 8/17, and 9/21
Issues:
Calendar We need an events calendar. Need to post events online and in the community. In addition we need to get dates certain from all 2015 state grantees. (Applications from state grantees reviewed to see what date, if any was specified and Fiona to call the rest to get a date certain scheduled as soon as possible.) In the next cycle we this date specified ASAP after awards made so that conflicts with other town events are avoided and so that publicity can be ongoing. Need on-line and in town posted calendar, which can be modified easily as new events are added. (Who is starting this?) Pam to look into Google Calendar. Can also paste calendar into our Monterey Cultural Council FaceBook page. Need all council members to be included as administrators and need to expand capacity of site for “likes”.
Publicity
Calendar issues entwined with publicity. Pam offered to do publicity for Eric Martin. Need dates for BE summer calendar
Will send them info on Eric Martin concert, 5/22, and Lucky 5 and “Monterey Has Talent” dates, as soon as available. Steve is checking on church space, date and costs.
