Monterey Cultural Council Minutes for November 17, 2014
Meeting called to order at 7 pm at the Monterey Library.
Council Members present: Roz Halberstadter, Pat Salomon, Fiona De Ris, Susan Johnson, Wendy Jensen, Steve Weisz
Old Business:
-Studio Tour planning: Pat contacted 27 different organizations to update our email addresses for contact information and to expand our information range. She is working on getting an article about the Studio Tour in to the Shopper’s Guide, the Berkshire Eagle and the Berkshire Edge. She also sent information about the Tour to Otis and Sandisfield to put into their events calendars. Wendy has postcards for the Studio Tour to be distributed around our area.
-Steve attended the meeting at the Library on 11/8/14 at 10:30 am to discuss library business, the Knox Gallery and plans for the library renovations. Steve reported that the library may possibly expand the building to create space for programs and other uses. The library wants to gather information from the public on what they would like to have the library do in the future.
-Emma Micklewright has dropped out of the Cultural Council because of time challenges with her other obligations.
New Business:
-We continued the process of reviewing grant applications for this year. We reviewed the school/school age oriented grants and decided on yes, no or maybe for each one.
-Meeting adjourned at 9 pm. The next meeting date: Monday, December 1 at 7 pm at the Library.
